The aqueduct of Italica

The oldest part of this roman aqueduct of Italica / Santeponce (Spain) had its sources upstream of the river Guadiamar (1c AD) (Top). In a latter period - after Hadrian founded the nova urbs of the colony of Colonia Aelia Augusta Italica - the existing aqueduct was augmented by an extension which sources were in the Tejada valley (Left), 36,5 km from the castellum aquae of Italica (Right) [canto1979]
