Iturranduz dam

A beautiful overview over the double dam of Iturranduz. The upstream side (the
former lake) is at right. The longest dam of ashlars in lime mortar, had internal buttresses and
was 150 m long. The left dam, with external buttresses made of Roman concrete (opus
caementicium), was later added as a reinforcement. Note the almost square inlet *tower*, just
before the long dam makes an angle.
