Foundations

During excavation works nine supports have been found, comprising of large arshlar stones with
upper parts in the shape of a diamond top. Each of these stones could support the first springers
of arches. The present interpretation is that this structure was the support of an aqueduct (open
channel or pipes) carrying water to some parts of the city of Andelos.
