Aspendos (Turkey)

Venter bridge

The massive venter bridge of the Roman aqueduct of Aspendos (Turkey) looking upstream. Note the
well preserved arches and piers (3,6 x 5,4 m and 7 m wide) to carry the stone pipes which brought
the water from the Taurus mountains (background) to the acropolis hill. This part of the venter
bridge is about 900 m long.
