Humeima map

Humeima / Hamayma in present Jordan, Auara in ancient times, Hauara on the Peutinger map. A deserted place about 80 km NNE from Aqaba and 15 km W of the modern Desert Highway, in Roman times an important stop along the Via Nova Traiana. Auara's water supply came from run-off systems in the area and springs as far as 19 km away to the NE, one of them called 'Ain el-Qanah (Oleson1990)
