Cut from the aqueduct

In 1957 a 1,5 m long cut from the Roman aqueduct in de Heidenlochstrasse was transported to
Basel for the exhibition “2000 years Basel”. Since, the cut got a place near the bakery
(Backstube) opposite the museum building of Augst. Note the reddish plaster (opus signinum) and
the quarter rounds at the lower parts of the channel, to get it watertight.
