Hypothesis

Hypothesis of Barcino's Roman's aqueduct inside the city. 1) Collecting water from the Montcada
mines to Barcino. A second aqueduct from the Collserola hills was not Roman. 2) The aqueduct
was subterranean. The only exception was the channel on arches from the current Placa de Sant
Pare, 3) Entering the city the aqueduct was split. The water was distributed by lead pipes from
two castellae (distribution points) located on two summits in the city. Note: Not to scale. In the
drawing 'cisterna' means castellae (distribution points), not water reservoir (wds).
