New sluice

In the early phase of the Nahal Taninim dam, the sluices served only the Low level aqueduct.
In later years flour mills were added, but this combination worked out unsuccessfully. Then a new,
bigger sluice gate was added at the south end feeding (only) the Low level aqueduct. On the picture
the grooves of the ‘new' sluice gate can easily be seen.
