Caesarea (Israel)

Bypass

After three centuries of utilization a section of over 500 m was put out of use because of stability
problems. A bypass to the south was constructed, apparently to avoid an area sinking into the
swamp NW of Beit Hananya. It rejoined some 400 m before the mouth of the Jasser a-Zarka tunnel.
It consisted of a single channel on a substruction.
