Into the channel

The sacred source is the heart of the sanctuary. The water converges on this point via a series
of underground galleries. This water then reaches the surface at the level of the source before disappearing again through
a crack in the rock. This geological phenomenon, characteristic of calcareous soils and of
'karstic' relief, is known as resurgence. This marvel is at the origin of the cult of water at Andesina.
