Inside the conduit at Le Grès

Inside the conduit of the aqueduct at theLe Grès railway cutting. The massive sinter deposits
taper upward because of two reasons; (1) the water level was fluctuating, and sinter was mostly
added to the lower part of the conduit and (2) the water level gradually rose over the years due
to narrowing of the lower part of the conduit
