Southern abutment

The remains of the south abutment of a bridge of one branch of the Aqua Claudia
crossing the
river Anio. The original channel of the Claudia continued on the north bank for some kilometers,
before jumping to the south bank and united with the side branch: the so called Hadrians loop in
the Anio gorge under Vicovaro.
