Ancient and modern

Along the Via Aurelia Antica (house number 183), close to the Villa Doria Pamphili, interesting
remains of both the ancient Aqua Traiana and the Acqua Paola (1612 ad) can be found. At right opus
reticulatum and a foundation of a pillar of the Aqua Traiana, the remaining masonry and the padding
are of the Acqua Paola. In the middle Paola arches under which pillars of the ancient Aqua Traiana. Left
the lower parts of Traiana pillars overarched by those of then Acqua Paola.
