Roma Vecchia-
  Porta Maggiore

Aqua Marcia's channel

Here at Roma Vecchia and close to the Via Lemonia, the channel of the Aqua Marcia (140 bc)
with the remains of the Aqua Tepula (125 bc) on top of it, emerged from the ground. Above the partly
visible channel of the Tepula was the channel of the Aqua Julia (33 bc). For the next 10 km these
channels were built on substructures and arcades above ground, heading towards Porta Maggiore
and beyond.
