Leap-frog

In the area between the end of the 1350 m long arcade and Tor Fiscale the arcades of the Aquae Marcia /
Tepula / Julia and of the Aquae Claudia / Anio Novus played at leap-frog. In the area in between
both arcades the Goths made an army camp during their siege of Rome, walling up the lower arcades, see
Procopius' Wars VI,3,3-7. Almost no visible remains are left. See also the painting of Zeno Diemer in the Deutsches Museum München (Germany).
