Porta Caesarea

View at the east-, former outer-, side of the Porta Caesarea with at right and at left the two
octagonal towers. The gate was partly used to accommodate the aqueduct. Across the west side
the water channel extended, filling the nymphaeum located to the south of the gate, from where
older parts of the city were supplied with water through a network of channels and (lead) pipes.
