Ring-shaped structure

This structure of this castellum divisorium had a ring-shaped plan with an entry and exit on the
same level. As soon as there was a surplus in the supply, water flowed via an overflow into a second
ring-shaped structure under the first one, where further distribution took place. Otherwise Puteoli
had to count for its water supply on the Campanian aqueduct or on local springs and wells.
