Reservoir entrance

The road tunnel Crypta Romana gave access to a double reservoir with a common capacity of over
2.000 m3. Here the entrance to both reservoirs which were fed by a branch line of the Aqua Augusta /
Serino aqueduct although traces of calcareous deposits are missing. Both reservoirs seem older than
the supplying aqueduct and at that time fed by rain water.
