This impressive gallery lies just below the dam and can be seen from above from the dam. It is cut into a vertical rock wall in the manner shown in the sketch, leaving a 3 m high wall separating the aqueduct from the gorge. The cut is up to 10 deep, and the conduit of the aqueduct 1.8m wide. Locally, arches were left standing to support weak sections of the rock wall.
